VA - Great Falls Potomac River Sunrise Blue.jpg
Late autumn skies provide morning color over the Potomac River and Great Falls as seen from Great Falls National Park in Fairfax County, Northern Virginia. The falls are a feature of the river encountering the fall line--a geologic zone of transition between the piedmont and coastal plain. Great Falls National Park is a unit of the George Washington Memorial Parkway.
