SC - Folly Beach Blue Hour Moonrise FINAL.jpg
A full moon rises over Folly Beach and a set of timber pilings as the Atlantic Ocean pushes and pulls along the Lowcountry South Carolina shoreline. The construction and maintenance of Charleston Harbor has robbed much of the natural sand movement towards Folly Beach, causing considerable long-term erosion along the beaches. Thus, the shore is lined with many hard structures (timber pilings as one) in an attempt to hold present day sand supplies in place.
