NC - Herbert Bonner Bridge Sunset Alt.jpg

Add to Cart Download
Built in 1963 with a useful engineered life of thirty years, the Herbert C. Bonner Bridge is standing on borrowed time! Providing the only land access to the southern Outer Banks barrier islands, the Bonner Bridge is a critical link for local residents and tourists alike. Plans have been on the drawing board for a replacement bridge for almost a decade, but continually draws criticism for budgetary or environmental concerns. The bridge replacement remains in litigation to this day.
